Toronto, Canada – February 22, 2006 – Computershare (ASX: CPU), a global leader in transfer agency, employee investment plans, proxy solicitation and other specialized financial and communication services, has won the 2005 ETERNE Award from The Tree Canada Foundation for its eTree Program.

eTree (www.eTree.ca) is an initiative between Computershare and Tree Canada, a national conservation organization, which assists companies in increasing stakeholder acceptance of electronic communications. Each time a shareholder registers for electronic report or statement delivery through a sponsored eTree program, a tree is planted on his/her behalf in various regions throughout Canada.

"The ETERNE Award is given to those corporations whose sponsorship of the Tree Canada Foundation exemplifies the very best in environmental stewardship. It is called ETERNE to acknowledge the dynamism and eternal nature of trees and forests. The prize has been awarded since 1993", said Jeffrey L. Monty, President of the Tree Canada Foundation.

The Award is made from a section of an ancient tree found in the Salomon Creek valley in Alberta outside of Jasper National Park. It was from a spruce tree growing in the valley in 2240-2400 B.C. The tree was 180 years old when a cataclysmic landslide buried it until it was unearthed again in 1980 by a flood.
